THE MIDNIGHT FORUM L.E.A.P.S INTO DC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
L.E.A.P. (Learn, Excel, Achieve, Progress) offers an academically rich and stimulating environment for children in the 1st through 6th grades to improve their academic skills and achievement while building character and being exposed to the exciting world of graffiti art. Children typically attend the program five days per week, from 3:10 7:00 p.m. L.E.A.P.'s staff provide daily instruction in a variety of subject areas from language arts and math. Up to 150 students attend L.E.A.P. each day and are assisted by a team of staff and volunteers.
The Midnight Forum (TMF) is proud to provide the Art & Music curriculum and training for the L.E.A.P. program. TMF has taken its successful graffiti art and music lesson plans and modified them to work at an elementary level. L.E.A.P. students will learn basic letter writing and character drawing skills, abstract color techniques, fashion design, introductory music production and various English skills through poetry and rhyme writing.
New Community for Children's L.E.A.P. Program is funded in part by 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
Location: Scott Montgomery Elementary School, 5th & P Street NW, Washington DC
